Just discovered your blog (via Firestorm Fan), Shag, and right away, it’s going in my sidebar. I mean, how could it not given the subject matter?

I’m in complete agreement that Matt Smith should do nicely despite the naysayers, naysayers which have been around since Doctor Who has had fans. How dare they replace Hartnell that mop top clown?!? Oh that Vicki, she’s no Susan. Or probably, Aztecs? Where are the Daleks?

I loved Eccleston. He was possibly my favourite Doctor. I know a lot of people didn’t like him, but I thought he was perfect, filled with pain and anger and sorrow, and just funny enough.

I won’t miss Tennant; he’s a good Doctor but I think his tenure in the Tardis is long overdue…

I’m trying not to make any judgment about Matt Smith before I see him, however, I still am disappointed he is the new Doctor. I love David Tennant too much. He is the actor I was praying for to come rescue the series from Christopher Eccelston. I’ve said it before and I will say it again, I was not a Eccelston fan. There were some decent episodes in that season but not because of him but because of the writing.
I am really going to miss Tennant. I was hoping he was going to be around for as long as Tom Baker was.

I couldn’t agree more. Like at the whole brouhaha about Tate as Donna, and look how fantastic she was.

People – especially sci-fi fans – seem way too eager to overreact. I’m not saying anything about MS; he could be fantastic, and you’re right about Moffatt.

We only have to wait another 15 months to find out!
