Brian - I totally agree about the art. Same feeling here.

Frank - Your Wayne/JLA theory had me laughing my head off! However, I gotta say that Shadowpact was really good. Definitely worth checking out.

Thanks for your comments!

My favorite Blue Devil covers:
#1 (sells all the elements of the series in one image)
#3 (This Metallo I respected as a badass, and the cover tells a story.)
#4 (!WTF ANNATAZ)
#7 Not enough super-heroes with hoop earrings...
#11 A lousy issue, but that image stuck in my mind.
#14 I wasn't old enough to know it was an homage.
#16 Strictly for Marla.
#23 An exciting versus cover, and the best issue after a long string of stinkers (I never read #18 or 20, tho'.)
Annual #1 Nice group shot, and it makes me hungry.

I didn't care for the J L A run, as it got Danny's personality completely wrong. Retcon option: Wayne climbed into the suit from here on out. I left Shadowpact alone, as well

Great collection of covers that bring back alot of memories.

Some of them are bittersweet though, particularly the Paris Cullens covers for issues that I remember not having his art inside. He spoiled me as a reader, and the followup guy just didn't compare as a result.
