I hate it.

Joel Schroeder has taken a beloved and irreplaceable comic strip and has decided to find a back alley to profit from it by making a 'documentary?' of random people who want to be on camera.

First quote off the bat to pitch this idea,

"My mom was always trying to get me to read, and, uh, I wasn't really into books with 'words'? So to speak".

Trying to push aside the obvious annoyance of, "people with funny anecdotes" I began to find some credibility with the authoritative guests that began to appear. They got Berkeley Breathed, the creator of Opus! Sweet! Charles Solomon, a well respected animation critic! Okay. Keith Knight, the creator of, um, he's a cartoonist! Seth Green... made one comic called Freshmen... co-created the comic... and is a social reference at times...

No, f*ck that, Seth Green and the rest of these hipster doucheb*gs are filling up time on a bleak project. It's like looking at a Picasso while listening to the audio tour narrated by Bobcat Goldwaith. Sure, you might get a laugh or think for a second, "He sure has a point" but for F*CK'S SAKE. Don't let a USC trust fund d*ckweed ruin a beloved memory by filming people who cared about Calvin and Hobbes as much as they did Pogs!

Please don't help fund a film dedicated towards a thank you. Bill Watterson has earned his privacy and would want to continue to create and inspire, but at his pace.

You really want to thank somebody? Newspapers and comics are at a desperate need for subscribers. Couldn't there be some sort of program, a trust system of sorts towards helping the two needs? As a fellow comic strip lover and as past Sunday funnies readers that you were or are, ask you're local papers to request Bill come back to creating. In return for his return, you could make a donation towards the dying newspaper industry. Isn't the newspaper, the provider of, "Calvin and Hobbes" for over ten years something worth thanking? The proposal could be in letters, in e-mails, but most importantly, asking for the return of a great comic. Even for a few strips more, only in the Sunday's, would be more than a miracle.

Don't put another dime toward Hyenas guised as allies. Think clearly about how to thank you're warmest memories.

I leave you with this. Please consider.

I've got a friend who hates C&H for being "obverrated." I'm considering not being friends with him anymore; he clearly hates happiness and probably kicks puppies.
