Once Upon a Geek’s 1st Birthday!
ONCE UPON A GEEK is one year old today!
Hard to believe it’s been a whole year! The site went live on March 31, 2008 with a simple “Welcome and Introductions” post. Originally it was an experiment to try and understand what blogging was all about. At the time I didn’t really think I’d be able to keep up with a blog, but I sure was going to try. Early on I realized there were very few readers over the weekend, so I decided to just focus on posting on weekdays. Hence the description that it’s a “weekdaily” blog. Also, that gives me two days off each week so I can recharge my geek batteries.
A year later and there have been 284 posts, over 1,000 comments, and over 135,000 visitors! And I’ve been foolish enough to start a second blog, the FIRESTORM FAN.
My thanks to everyone that has stopped by ONCE UPON A GEEK over the past year. I also want to thank all my friends and the blogging community for their support and assistance. Happy Birthday! Thanks for the “shout out!” Only one year old? Great Neptune’s Beard! I assumed you had been doing it for much longer than that. Good stuff! This site has definitely been a welcome addition to my list of sites to visit on a daily basis.
Year Two? Year Two? That’s it! Year Two was the totally unimpressive Batman story I had that I sold off some 18 years before realizing Todd McFarlane did art on it.
Hope your Year Two is better than Batman’s!
