{"id":2270,"date":"2009-11-05T07:00:44","date_gmt":"2009-11-05T11:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/onceuponageek.com\/?p=2270"},"modified":"2009-11-05T09:52:46","modified_gmt":"2009-11-05T13:52:46","slug":"astonishing-x-men-motion-comic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/onceuponageek.com\/wordpress\/2009\/11\/05\/astonishing-x-men-motion-comic\/","title":{"rendered":"Astonishing X-Men Motion Comic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright\" title=\"Astonishing X-Men #1\" src=\"http:\/\/onceuponageek.com\/images\/astonish.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"229\" height=\"350\" \/>Check out this Marvel Motion Comic based upon Joss Whedon and John Cassaday&#8217;s <em>Astonishing X-Men<\/em> #1.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Wondering what is a Motion Comic?\u00a0 Essentially they take pre-existing artwork and move the drawings, enhance the artwork, record the dialogue, and add sound effects to create a near-animation experience.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a neat way to animate your favorite stories while preserving the artwork.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">I did not read these issues of X-Men, however, I enjoyed watching the comic in this format.\u00a0 Here is the synopsis: Cyclops and Emma Frost re-form the X-Men with the express purpose of &#8220;astonishing&#8221; the world. But when breaking news regarding the mutant gene unexpectedly hits the airwaves, will it derail their new plans before they even get started?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This issue is a good jumping-on point for lapsed X-Men fans like myself.\u00a0 While the story was new, it definitely feels like the &#8220;classic&#8221; X-Men characters I grew up with.\u00a0 If you haven&#8217;t seen this yet, give it a shot.\u00a0 It&#8217;s worth your time (13 minutes and 38 seconds of your time to be exact).
