TV series<\/a>.\u00a0 Boy does it stink.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve mentioned it here before, but the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0085106\/\" title=\"V on IMDB\">original mini-series<\/a> was really good.\u00a0 &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0086823\/\" title=\"V The Final Battle on IMDB\">The Final Battle<\/a>&#8221; was okay.\u00a0 And the regular TV series is almost unwatchable.\u00a0 However, as I continue to plod my way through the TV series (why, I really don&#8217;t remember anymore), I keep coming back to the same thought.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" border=\"0\" align=\"left\" width=\"150\" src=\"http:\/\/onceuponageek.com\/images\/max.jpg\" alt=\"Maxwell Lord\" height=\"222\" \/>I&#8217;m sure I&#8217;m completely wrong, but every time the character of &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Collaborators_%28V_TV_series%29#Governor_Nathan_Bates\" title=\"Nathan Bates on Wikipedia\" class=\"broken_link\">Nathan Bates<\/a>&#8221; (played by <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lane_Smith\" title=\"Lane Smith on Wikipedia\">Lane Smith<\/a>) comes on-screen I think this character must have been the visual basis for &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Maxwell_Lord\" title=\"Maxwell Lord on Wikipedia\">Maxwell Lord<\/a>&#8221; from the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Justice_League_International\" title=\"JLI on Wikipedia\">Justice League International<\/a> comic. \u00a0The hair, the suits, the cigars, even the jaw line.\u00a0 Nathan Bates first appeared in October 1984 and Maxwell Lord first appeared in May 1987.\u00a0 So I guess it&#8217;s possible, but I would hope the artist <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kevin_Maguire\" title=\"Kevin Maguire at Wikipedia\">Kevin Maguire<\/a> had better taste in television than that.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Maybe all corporate-types from the 80&#8217;s had this generic look; I don&#8217;t really remember.\u00a0 I just know as I finish watching the &#8220;V&#8221; TV series that sooner or later\u00a0Nathan Bates is going to bust out with a, &#8220;Bwah-hah-ha&#8221;.\u00a0 That&#8217;ll be the clincher.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Crazy &#8230;
