\"War<\/a>There is a comic coming out this\u00a0Wednesday that I’m really looking forward to –\u00a0it’s called “The War that Time Forgot<\/a>” #1.\u00a0 It’s a twelve part mini-series written by Bruce Jones,\u00a0with\u00a0art by Al Barrionuevo and Jimmy Palmiotti.\u00a0 Also, there are going to be some kick-butt covers by folks like Neal Adams<\/a>, Brian Bolland<\/a>, Mark Schultz<\/a> and more.<\/p>\n

The reason I think this comic will be so cool is all the characters involved.\u00a0 It’s like a celebration for old school comic fans (from the 50’s & 60’s), or Who’s Who<\/a> junkies (from the 80’s) like myself and SGhoul.\u00a0 This series features many of DC’s non-superhero top characters\/settings from the silver age such as Tomahawk<\/a>\u00a0(hero of the American Revolutionary War), Firehair<\/a>\u00a0(hero of the old west),\u00a0the Enemy Ace\u00a0(a World War I German flying Ace), the Viking Prince<\/a>\u00a0(historic Viking hero), and\u00a0Dinosaur Island<\/a> (a mysterious island inhabited by dinosaurs where many WWII battles were fought).\u00a0The story takes all these great historic heroes and throws them together on Dinosaur Island for a cool looking adventure.\u00a0 Sounds awesome!<\/p>\n

One way of looking at\u00a0the fantastic “DC New Frontier<\/a>” series is to think, “This is what a major company-wide crossover would have looked like if they’d done them\u00a0back in the silver age”.\u00a0 If you follow that\u00a0logic, then “The War that Time Forgot” would be the same type of major company-wide crossover, but featuring\u00a0the non-superhero historic-characters of the silver age.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/a>If you have any love for crazy dinosaur versus World War II military action, then I highly recommend the book\u00a0Showcase Presents “The War that Time Forgot”<\/a>.\u00a0 It’s got over 500 pages of dinosaurs battling tanks, airplanes, submarines, soldiers, etc.\u00a0 It reprints stories from “Star Spangled War Stories” from 1960-1966.\u00a0 I’ve been reading it and having a blast!\u00a0 I love me some nutso dinosaur war comics!<\/p>\n

So watch for “The War that Time Forgot” #1 on sale on Wednesday.\u00a0 I think it has the\u00a0potential to be\u00a0fantastic!<\/p>\n
