you ask?\u00a0 Free Comic Book Day is an annual event\u00a0when participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their stores.\u00a0 How cool is that!<\/p>\n<p>So stop by your local comic shop on Saturday, pick up something you&#8217;ve never read before FOR FREE, and expand your mind.\u00a0 Click here for a complete list of all the free comics that are being offered in conjunction with Free Comic Book Day.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/onceuponageek.com\/images\/fcbd05.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Free Comic Book Day\" width=\"300\" height=\"399\" align=\"right\" \/>If you have any children, be sure to bring them too.\u00a0 Many of the comics are specifically geared towards getting children interested in comics.\u00a0 Most comic shops really make an effort to make it family friendly.\u00a0 My local shop, <a title=\"Cosmic Cat\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cosmiccatcomics.com\/\">Cosmic Cat\u00a0Comics and Games<\/a>, will have comic artist Billy Penn (of the\u00a0just published\u00a0<a title=\"Hot Shot and Mighty Girl\" href=\"http:\/\/www.platinumstudioscomics.com\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=75&amp;Itemid=57\" class=\"broken_link\">Hot Shot &amp;
