Just saw the Watchmen movie.\u00a0 Man, it was great!\u00a0 Don’t worry, no spoilers here.\u00a0\u00a0 I just had to say how much I enjoyed it.\u00a0 Going in I was optimistic, but was still considering the option that it might disappoint.\u00a0 I was wrong!\u00a0 It surpassed my wildest dreams.<\/p>\n
At the start, I told myself to forget the comic.\u00a0 Just focus on the movie in front of me and enjoy (or hate) it for what it was.\u00a0 I tried to imagine what my wife would think of the film; she being a C.N.G. (Certified Non-Geek).\u00a0 I quickly realized that I couldn’t separate myself enough from the original material.\u00a0 It was nearly three hours of geek-gasm.<\/p>\n
My failure to separate myself from the original source material has left me unsure what the “general public” will think of the film.\u00a0 I honestly don’t have a clue.\u00a0 I hope they like it, but I really can’t begin to guess.<\/p>\n
The casting and acting in the movie was dead-on.\u00a0 Everyone pulled their weight in this film.\u00a0 Not a bad performance in the lot.\u00a0 The costumes, sets, cinematography, fight sequences… everything… just awesome!\u00a0 It was like the comic come to life, but better.<\/p>\n
I don’t think I’m spoiling anything by saying they changed a few things from the graphic novel for the movie; not much, but some.\u00a0 I have to say I think the changed items work better.\u00a0 Good decisions by the writers and director.<\/p>\n
I’m planning to see it again next week, so maybe my opinion will change.\u00a0 But for right now, I think the movie was great!<\/p>\n
